Beach Days

When it's sunny, Edie and I go to the beach at least every other day. Before moving to Seattle I remember people telling us how beautiful it was in the summer months, but I really had no idea how incredible our current surroundings would be. Within a couple miles we have a beautiful beach with perfect digging sand for Edie and an unbelievable view of snow capped mountains for me. Between the two is the Sound, full of boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. I could sit there all day. It's heaven.

As you can see, Edie loves it too!

We almost always head to Golden Gardens to get our beach fix, but we've also been known to explore Carkeek Park some.  Yesterday we went at low tide after one of my friends told us about all the neat stuff you can see.

We saw crabs...

A Dungenous Crab and Red Rock Crab
...And a TON of starfish...
Starfish Galore!
...And Sea Cucumbers...

We also saw hermit crabs, anemone, and some other neat stuff not captured on camera.

Alex couldn't make it with us, but Edie and I still had a great time!

She loves getting a little dirty.

My little adventurer.

And just to show you how absolutely gorgeous this place is... A tidal pool, a little bit of beach, the sound, and the Olympic Mountains with a little snow still.  Amazing.
